About Purple Mango Co.

Better marketing starts with understanding people.

We are a strategy-first marketing consultancy. We study the people a business is trying to reach, then build the marketing direction, content and campaigns around what we learn. Founded and led by Denise Reid.

The Story

The company grew out of a question worth asking.

Denise Reid has spent more than fourteen years in marketing, brand, content and communications. Inside universities and organizations, and alongside businesses of her own. Across all of it, one question kept surfacing: what do we actually know about the person receiving this message?

That question turned into a practice. She started paying closer attention to how people talk, what earns their attention, how trust gets built, and how culture shapes the way a message lands. Some audiences respond to proof. Others respond to being seen. The difference is rarely in the tactic.

Purple Mango grew from that perspective. We brought research, audience understanding, strategy and creative work into one place, so decisions come from evidence rather than instinct alone. Platforms will keep changing. What we learn about people carries forward.

Her experience shaped the thinking. Purple Mango is how that thinking becomes work for clients.

The Philosophy

What we believe about people, culture and marketing.

Four ideas shape how we approach every engagement. They are not rules. They are the reasons our recommendations look the way they do.

01

Understand before you execute.

Good marketing begins with the people, the problem, the business objective and the context around all three. We would rather ask better questions early than produce something that has to be explained later.

02

Study people more closely than platforms.

Algorithms, formats and trends are tools, and we pay attention to them. They also change constantly. How people communicate, decide and build trust moves far more slowly, which makes it a steadier thing to plan around.

03

Culture shapes how a message lands.

People meet marketing through identity, community, language and lived experience. Cultural understanding belongs in the research phase, not in a final review where it becomes a matter of tone.

04

Strategy should make the work easier.

Good strategy makes decisions simpler. A team should finish it knowing what matters, what comes first, who they are speaking to, and why a given tactic earns its place.

How We Work

Research and strategy first. Then the work that sustains it.

Engagements vary in scope, and the sequence holds. We learn, we decide, we build, then we put it into practice with the people who have to carry it.

01

Understand

Audience research, competitive and cultural context, and a clear read on what the business needs to accomplish.

02

Decide

Positioning, messaging and priorities, documented so the whole team is working from the same understanding.

03

Build

Campaign architecture, content planning and the editorial structure that turns a priority into a plan.

04

Activate

Execution, management or facilitation, plus the measures that tell us whether the direction is holding.

Our own methods

Some of this thinking became repeatable. The FRUIT Method™ helps decide what deserves investment right now. Root to Fruit™ turns a chosen priority into one connected campaign. Both came out of client work, and both are documented so a team can keep using them after we finish.

03
